New Year's Eve 2016 Fete Noire

Another year has come and gone,
and we sent 2016 packing
with a Fete Noire.

In attendance were the usual suspects,
Kim and Kimberly, Todd and me.

The table was done entirely in black and white
for a Fete Noire.

The stack was a large, square black charger, topped with a square
black dinner plate, a square white salad plate, and the cup for the soup.

But, it needed a little zing, so a black and white doily
was added under the soup cup to break up all the white.

Eiffel Tower salt and pepper shakers? Mais Oui.

 Black on black napkins with
Eiffel Tower napkin rings.

The menu was entirely seafood.

Delicious, but time consuming Lobster Bisque.

Lemon Pepper shrimp for the Caesar Salad.

A King crab leg, broccoli timbale, and scallops in Irish butter.
The scallops were sauteed, placed over a bed of garlic spinach, then topped with
a gremolata of garlicky bread crumbs, olive oil, parsley, and lemon zest.
My favorite scallop presentation ever.

This is one happy man.

And, Happy New Year to all of you
from A Graceful Table.
