Our Christmas Eve celebration
with hubby's parents was a
casual and relaxed affair.
We invited the forest creatures in
to join us for a rustic, north-woodsy Christmas.
The centerpiece featured two lemon cypress topiaries
from Gracie's Plant Works. I wrapped them in cranberry
burlap and added a burlap bow to tie in the runner.
Cute little burlap and bling birdies perched in
the trees and on antlers.
Vintage Bakelite silverware from Japan in an antler pattern,
with a shimmery little bird napkin ring I found at Pottery Barn.
Arthur Court Elk serving bowl for the potatoes
and wine coaster.
Cute little mushrooms were tucked in the greenery
and look like the forest floor.
What I love about this Christmas is that Kimberly and I
never, ever, ever tell each other what we're doing when we
host a dinner. That we both went a rustic route this
year kind of blows me away.

Because we live in America's Canoe Capital,
we must serve the Expedition Cabernet.
Also vintage is my Bordallo Ivy Leaves and Red Berries
dinnerware, a gift last Christmas from Kimberly.
Rattan chargers help the plates stand out
on the Ralph Lauren tablecloth.
We roasted this gorgeous prime rib roast,
and had potatoes, gravy, and two salads.
What a wonderfully relaxing Christmas Eve
with those near and dear/deer.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

I love your table! Those lemon cypress just make it so beautiful, and the view behind the table helps too. We also had prime rib this year and seeing yours make me want it again. lol
