2015
went out with a BANG!
Thanks, Bridget, for the feature on your wonderful blog!
Kimberly hosted the New Year's Eve fete this year,
and she made quite a splash with her animal-themed table.
Her stemware was polished to such a sheen that, try as I might,
I could not get a shot without my reflection.
With her artist's eye, she deftly mixed the leopard print napkins with the
tiger print tablecloth. The rhinestones on the napkin rings echo the
bling place mat and the silver beaded edge of the organza silver napkin.
The animal print theme was a perfect backdrop for the silver elk antler candelabras.
She gave me a set for Christmas, too, so they will be appearing often in future posts.
Elk centerpiece with a touch of bling.
We both went a little nuts this fall at market,
adding quite a few silver antler pieces to our collections.
She alternated silver beaded place mats, a silver metal charger, and
a silver salad plate. It was stunning.
Individual salt and pepper shakers in silver.
Happy hour was equally impressive.
The silver/antler serving pieces complimented the
tablescape and the entire theme for the evening.
almond and jalapeno stuffed olives, and Parmesan crisps.
Shrimp cocktail on ice.
We all sat down to a delicious dinner of king crab legs and petite filets mignon,
caramelized Brussels sprouts, and Gruyere potato stacks,
followed by Brandy Alexanders.
Naturally, we didn't get any
decent shots of the food or the meal.
What did you think those champagne and wine glasses were, anyway? Props?
The next morning, we were treated to a gourmet breakfast
of hash browns and english muffins topped with gruyere cheese, avocadoes,
Canadian bacon and eggs. It tasted twice as good as it looks.
Happy New Year to everyone,
Kathy and Kimberly
