A Day to be Thankful

Thanksgiving Day, 2016:
A house full of family and friends,
food, and drink.

Thanksgiving table for seven.....

The combination of copper and silver has become one of
my favorites, especially when incorporating our local flora and fauna.

Native moss to secure the tapers in place in the candlesticks
and to echo the soft mossy green in the dinnerware.

Arthur Court Elk wine holder and pitcher.
I love using metal for cold drinks, the silver water glasses
kept the iced water cold throughout the entire meal.

Botanical Pumpkin by Williams Sonoma atop a
Ralph Lauren tablecloth with matching napkins,
cinched with a moss green stone napkin ring held together
with silver filigree wire.

Silver antlers amidst four garlands, intertwined and
nestled around the candlesticks.

The main event was a red currant-honey-apple juice glazed turkey, with
a morel mushroom wild rice stuffing served on the side.

Mashed potatoes and pear gravy......

and Grandma Cyriacks' Zestful Green Beans,
a great take on an old favorite - she always added water chestnuts,
grated onion, and Parmesan cheese.

Hurry up and take the photo, we're ready to eat!
